3 countries in 1.5 hour and Iguazu falls
6 oktober 2018 - Asunción, Paraguay
hi everyone,
On monday I left Asuncion to go to the Iguazu falls, interesting trip it was... the first 6 hours were in quite a luxurous bus. Than we got to ciudad del este , a buzzling city with a big market on the border of Paraguay. And with my little spanish it was a bit of a thing to find out about the borders crossing and the bus, luckily i met two people from argentina that were very nice and they helped me with translation and everything. So when we were in a traffick jam on the Paraguan border me and another guy got out and walked i think at least 1 km to the immigration office and got our passports stamped, than we walked back again as the bus did not move very far. Than we moved on to Brazil luckily no immigration things there as we were just crossing. Than we arrived at the Argitinian border by ths time it was dark, off the bus again, another stamp in my passport and a luggage check and than back on the bus to finally arrive in Puerta Iguazu.
The next dat i went to visit Iguazu falls, one of the 7 world wonders and a Unesco site. It was a very beautyfull and stunning place. Look at the pictures and you know why:-) We also saw lots of wildlife; capuchin monkeys, coaties, colourfull birds, a turtle, catfish etc. My feet did not like all the walking but it was worth it.
On the wednesday me and Toni (a spanish guy I met at the hostel) went to the brazilian side of the falls, which was a very different view but also very nice.
In the evening we went to see the sunset at the 3 country point, we were standing in argentina and saw brazil and paraguay just separated by a river.
My last day I went to local rescue centre and i was very impressed with the sign at the gate explaining they were not a zoo but a rescue centre and therefore you only got to see some of the animals that could not be released anymore. After the tour I talked to some of the people there about the reintroducing of the animals in the wild and their quarantine facilities.
Not far from here was "casa ecologica" a house build of plastic bottles. It was a fascinating and a very creative place. next to the pictures i explained some more of how they did things.
yesterday i travelled all the way back, only this time the bus did not wait from me at the border of paraguay:-( so i had to find another way of getting to the terminal, which i finally managed. I asked for a direct bus, hahahaha they gave me the oppposite it stopped every 10 meters to let someone on or off. So it took forever to get to Asuncion. And here its normal to lower the temperature to freezing in the bus, and I was not prepared for that but the lady next to me shared her coat with me which was so funny, both of us snuggled up in this coat:-)
Nice to see everyone again at the hostel and today we went to a big market with a few missions, i needed to get raintrousers for the course, a guy needed to get flip flops and another girl needed a flower:-) we all succeeded and on our way back we went to a total vegan restaurant:-) and i was able to taste a very paraguyian thing called "chipa" it like a round bread with cheese in it. and oh my god its sooo nice.
I hope to find more vegan versions of it:-)
The course is starting tommorrow so I am excited and a little worried about my feet but I can only do my best. Whenever you guys have time tell me about your lifes on email, facebook or whatsapp always nice to know whats going on with everyone...
